Travelling is definitely one of the best ways to spend time with the people you love — your family, your friends, your kids, your husband, your wife, your sibling, whosoever. Aside from it surely is fun, it also lets you catch up with each other after busy days. BUT did you know that travelling all by yourself is also uniquely great? Indeed, it is!
There are things which you can only do [or at least do better] if you are travelling alone. This is not meant to tell you that you should not let anyone go with you as you travel. This is just to let you know that travelling is also one of the things you can do alone sometimes. Below are some of the perks of travelling alone! Check them out!
You can save time.
Let’s talk real. Of course, you don’t hate or blame your loved ones. It’s just that even if you do things in a slow pace, moving will still take more time if you’re with other people.
If you’re alone, you can quickly fix things, buy stuff, move from one place to another, leave the hotel immediately after taking a bath and many more. I mean especially if you want to save time and to go to all the beautiful tourist spots in the place you’ve visited and miss not even one, it’s helpful if you’re alone. You take selfies or ask a stranger to take a photo of you. If you’re with a lot of companions, of course, everyone will take a picture in every good spot — not just one shot and pose but a lot–and you have to wait.
You can save money.
Talking about practicality, of course, you can save more money if you’re travelling alone. If you’re with your friends who love shopping a lot, you might be dragged into a shopping mall or a famous night market and give in to the temptation of purchasing a lot of stuff you won’t really need (although at least you have a remembrance). You also don’t have anyone to treat or whatsoever! Sounds selfish huh?
Again, it just sounds selfish, but I’m not telling you not to bring your friends for this reason. I mean, this is a benefit of travelling all by yourself.

You can immediately choose where to eat.
Everyone can relate that it’s really hard to decide where to eat with the your companions. Come to think of it. If you’re just in your country, and you and your friends can’t decide or agree on where to eat, how much more in a foreign country?
If you’re travelling alone, you can decide quietly and even straight away. You may just research on your own, eat what you want or just stay in the hotel to eat what they have prepared for hotel guests.
You can peacefully have a “me time”
This is the last one from this list and probably the most “unselfish”-sounding. Obviously, if you’re travelling alone, you can freely have a time to spend with yourself. You can unwind and think of happy thoughts and of your dreams, the things you want to do, not of work, not of responsibilities and not of problems. You can get to know yourself more.
We all have a thirst to spend some time alone with our thoughts and ponder on the things that really matter. You might need to recollect yourself and fix some parts of you — areas of life that money or work can’t lighten. Travelling alone is a great way to do these and more.
Conclusion
Most things found in this list might look and sound selfish, but again they really are not selfish. It’s just telling you the advantages of travelling all by yourself but not telling you to leave others out. Of course, it’s so fun to travel with the people you love. It’s also just fun and important to travel alone. The point I just want to make with this article is that being alone doesn’t always mean being sad. Sometimes, travelling alone is also what you need to find some air of happiness and peace out there and to veer away from stress, stressors and stressful thoughts.
