Breakfast at Tiffany's still

TV shows and films have always been a great source of inspiration from fashion to home decor ideas. It essentially makes us realize that taking big risks, being bolder, and letting your personality shine through, in terms of home decor, is not bad at all. In fact, it’s better than sticking to what’s considered neutral and normal, where you share the same idea with everyone else who is hesitant in bringing their personality to the canvass.

To give you some fresh and bold home decor inspiration, here are our favorite films that seriously charmed viewers and convince them to be bold when it comes to your home decorating senses.

Call Me By Your Name (2017)

The Academy Award-winning film for Best Adapted Screenplay, Call Me By Your Name, not only served us with a magnificent tale of love and loss but also showed us one of the exquisitely eccentric-looking homes in film history.

The modern (in its setting) and vintage yet romantic sense that the film emulate was effective in supporting the story. To put it simply: the set design is just as charmingly beautiful as the movie.

Amélie (2001)

The French film is a classic not only for the sole fact that it inspires traveling but also for some serious interior design inspiration. This film showcases rich and vibrant colors that work wonderfully well with vintage pieces.

The major home inspiration here is the notable red walls as a choice of color for the bedroom. We bet the bold color never crossed your mind to paint your walls with but in Amélie, it shows that the color is appropriately rich that stimulates relaxation.

Annie Hall (1977)

The famous Woody Allen film reeks heavenly of bohemian style. The 1970s romantic comedy film masterfully showcase the beauty and class of vintage furniture that looks classy when paired with textured pillows, hippie artworks, and earthy tones.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)

Audrey Hepburn’s most prominent iconic character, Holly Golightly, charms in this 1961 film. With here eccentricity comes her minimalist yet eclectic apartment. The first sight of it you’ll immediately notice the repurposed bathtub turned couch—which is obviously the focal point of her space as it’s accessorized with bright pink throws and purple seating. Another piece we adore is the printed rug. These certainly tells so much about Golightly’s personality.

The film goes to show repurposed furniture brings out character and creativity into space. Be bold and get creative with your space, it’s yours to design and gets comfortable with first and foremost.

The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)

Everyone, within the design industry or not, arguably knows Wes Anderson and what a masterful craft his films are especially when it comes to set and costume design. His films are always a feast on the eyes. The Royal Tenenbaums illustrates how amazing it is for establishing each character in terms of their rooms/homes. Naturally, the film dons saturated and vibrant hues, notable decor pieces such as Margot’s telephone, the teepee, and the likes.

La La Land (2016)

Damien Chazelle, with the amazing assistance of his set directors, delivered one of the beautifully colorful films in recent memory. Its solid, technicolor palette effectively sets the tone of the film and story as it progressed. Mia’s room, decorated with Hollywood posters, exuberates her dream and passion—acting. A great tip when decorating your home: showcase your passion or hobby.
